It was sweltering... and not even arm-pit guards could save me from the buckets of sweat that were pouring from my glands.

Anyway, it looks like I'll have the chance to wear it to Marcon, coming up in May. Very exciting stuff, as I hear that there may actually be a "Champions Ball" :0) Sweet.... so yeah - this also means that Jeff will get to wear his Viktor Krum Yule Ball robes. He's so dreamy in them... he really turned some heads at the GOF premiere.

There's some little nit-picky things to do on them both before they'll be ready to wear: I need to do some fine tuning in the fit of Rita's jacket and permanently attach the fur cuffs and collar. Krum will need new permanent claw clasps, a darker pair of pants and a new belt buckle.

football is for people who can't play soccer

sad but true...

I don't care for football all that much - but just to be contrary I'll be rooting for the Seattle Seahawks for the Superbowl today. Having lived in the suburbs of Seattle for a handful of years (and having a sister that was born there) I feel it's some how my duty.

It's my day off so I will be heading down to good ol' Lancaster for some football american. And a big meaty steak.

GO HAWKS!! \m/

I got the shoes in the mail today for my Goonies costume!! (I'm going to do Andy) This is coming along nicely - so far I've got the tennis skirt, the shoes, and the polo shirt for her. Just trying to find the perfect white sleevless sweater vest to go over it all. Once I do that all that is left is saving up the cashola to buy Troy's letterman sweater. I can't wait for that part!!!

I've also been trolling the local thrift and re-sale stores for pieces for Mikey, Brand, Chunk, Data, Ma Fratelli, Mouth and Sloth. The help of several friends has been enlisted to help this little dream of mine come true.

These are BRILLIANT costumes: they're comfortable, easy to do, and highly recognizable! These will be debuted at DragonCon 2006 in Atlanta.

Various Goings On

Another day, another 8 hours I sit on my ass being bored. Same ol', Same ol'...I've much to do, but lack the "get up and go" to make these things happen.

Currently on my plate are various commissioned works. The one I'm picking at now is a Harry Potter 1st Task Robe and hoodie from the latest HP Movie, Goblet of Fire. I've done about a ba-zillion (yes, I counted) of these, so they're a snap. I do have to do some things to this one to make it a bit fancier - splitting and angling the seam in the back, embroidering, and lining it.

I hate lining *growl*

The back is embroidered with his name and a star, and the trim is already on. So it's about 1/2 done, i'd say. One day you may see pictures perhaps... but it is not this day.

Other things on my costuming plate:
4 Landsknecht outfits - 16th Century German Mercenaries, that is
Various Goonies Costumes
Costumes from The Smashing Pumpkins "Tonite Tonite" video
A handful of He-man/She-ra costumes
A pair of faery wings
Buddy Christ

Well... maybe it's best that I actually put this LJ to use - because apparently Andrew has indeed fallen off of the face of the earth.

So yeah - I guess you (whoever YOU are) can expect to find various rantings and ravings sprinkled with a liberal mix of costuming goodliness.

Enjoy +^_^+

Ok - this is a lame reason for having created a lj... but I was VERY bored at work, and googled my name. This usually yields boring results, but the gods smile down upon me this day. A long-lost pal and twin brother has me (my maiden name - Brannon Still) listed in his "interests" list. So I join to contact him. But I can't find contact info, damn it!! *stomps angrily*

So ANDREW from IDAHO - if you can hear me (or see this) reply!! It's been far too long, my brother!!!

p.s. - I still have the Mr. Bean shirt!!!
